I bought these shoes almost exactly 3 years ago to the day (26th January 2010) and they are still going strong with heavy daily use.I work at a service station, so I'm always on my feet and they have seen just about everything. I also use them mountain biking as the flat rubber soles work perfectly with steel pinned bike pedals, and they're also great for doing heavy lifting in the gym.The rubber soles are incredibly durable. The tread pattern is still deep all over the bottom of the shoe, there are no places where it has worn down.There is some slight wear on the inner side where the balls of my feet are (1mm at most), but at this rate there would still be at least another 5 years left in them before I'd even come close to wearing them through. 5/5The genuine leather upper is also very durable.The stitching is still completely intact there are no loose threads anywhere on the shoe.The leather has broken in quite well so they do have a bit of a wrinkled look to them, but there is no leather crazing or cracks at all.5/5.The only points I can pick at are the insoles and the fabric lining within the shoes.As I work on my feet all day I found I needed to put a second insole in the shoe for comfort.The insoles they come with are pretty thin. And only about 2 weeks ago have I noticed the fabric lining around the heel area has started to fray and come apart. But aside from these things they have been nothing but a pleasure to wear. I am honestly surprised at how well they've lasted after this long.Quality shoes.

I've never written a review about shoes (I'll probably call them boots, too, but whatever) but I really love these. I bought them to wear with jeans/pants when I'm not at work. I looked at Keen, Merrell, and others but Adidas really nailed the styling and fit of these boots. They are sooooo comfortable, but have ample support. The toe area is very roomy. I don't mean to be, but I'm kind of an Adidas brand snob and also wear their running/trail running shoes. I normally wear a 10 in everything, but in Adidas I usually wear a 10.5. These are no different. You may have a different experience. Beyond feeling great, these just look sharp. With jeans and other pants they are stylish but in a subtle way. They lace on and off quickly and I think the quality is great.My only nit pick--and it's a small one--is that the tread is very aggressive. Which is great for traction on rough surfaces, but is not so great on slick wet surfaces (polished concrete, for example) or walking on soft dirt/mud or leaves. They are a magnet for stuff. I have an old pair of Timberlands that have become my hunting boots and they have a very flat tread profile that isn't as grippy (maybe), but also doesn't spear dry leaves and attract mud. I suspect this will subside over time as the new tread dulls a little. If you are going to use them exclusively for hiking, or city wear, no big deal. But, if you're like me and transition a lot from outdoors to indoors just be aware that the AX1's tread pattern will grab everything you walk over.
I wear a size 8 1/2 shoe but bought a 9.I always get a 9 or 9 1/2 for running shoes.This 9 was really true to size.I probably would be good with an 8 1/2."
