As a cross country runner in high school, I tried a lot of different shoes before settling on Adidas shoes. I have high arches, so once I discovered the Supernova Cushion, my feet were always happy. I've had 4 pairs of Supernova Cushions over the years and when the new version came out, the Supernova Glide, I had to give them a try.I've worn them on several runs already and I love them. They're even better than the Supernova Cushions, which I didn't think could be possible. They have plenty of cushion and are light yet durable enough to wear day in and day out. If you're looking for a quality running shoe, look no further than the new Glide.
It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, though it really does look so nice and would definitely recommend, but probably be sure of the type of size you'd want.
First of all, I do like these shoes, however, I need to start with what I dislike about them....1) They are blazing inferno's on your feet...I don't know what is up with the breathability aspect of these things, and I don't wear cotton socks (does anyone who wanders) but these things should be standard issue on Arctic Explorations and 8000meter peak climbs...noone would ever lose a toe to frostbite.OMG--I did some squats in them in the gym and came back to work and sat down and it felt like my feet were on absolute fire...it doesn't matter, I could have walked around the mall and my feet would have felt the conflagration that these things bring with them...can someone do a study on these?Seriously--I don't have this problem with ANY of my shoes..my shoes don't smell, my feet barely sweat, and these things seriously feel like when you walk on the hot sand on a beach...I kid you not...2) They are stiff as a board...make sure you break them in before you take them down the ol' dusty trail or you will need a box of band aids, a roll of moleskin, and a roll of ducttape in order to make it back to the trailhead....3) In order to combat #2 above, make sure you know how to tie a ""Heel Lock"" knot...it will greatly help reduce the friction from the constant back and forth levering action that the sole causes on your heel.The forefoot doesn't flex well for (a WHILE) and so the heel gets levered, and your achilles area pays the price.4) In order to implement #3 above, make sure you by new, LONGER laces...as the pretty laces that come with the shoes aren't LONG enough to tie a ""Heel Lock"" knot...well they might be, but just barely...its sorta like tying a party balloon, there is enough to get it done, but only if you are darn good...Read more ›
